BISO has the responsibility for electing students to represent the students in the BI Norwegian Business School’s Board of Trustees. The student representative will be elected for a year from July 2025, and will for the first semester function as an observer, and the second semester function as a representative. Students do not need to be a member of BISO to become a representative, but they have to be an active student for both semesters “in office”. The position is open for students from all campuses, but it is expected that you are physically present for the board meetings in Oslo. BI has expressed a preference for a male to be elected this time due to the gender balance in the board.
As an observer or representative in the BI Norwegian Business School’s Board of Trustees, your responsibility is to gather and voice the students’ opinions on BI’s board meetings. As a representative of the Board of Trustees, your responsibilities will in addition to this be all responsibilities connected with being a representative of any board in a Norwegian organization. The board meetings are conducted in Norwegian, so you need to be fluent in Norwegian for this role. The position is remunerated.
Interviews will be conducted digitally by HR and the current student observer on the BI board, with whom the selected candidate will work closely. The interviewers will nominate a candidate for the position and elections will be held at the National Meeting in Trondheim on 22. and 23. March. It is possible to participate digitally at the meeting to hold a speech and question round.
From the start of the semester in August 2025, the elected person will take over as a student observer in BI’s board meetings and as a student representative from January 2026.
