Do you want to be the face of BI’s students in Norway’s leading student city?

The Head of External Affairs is responsible for making contacts and collaborating with other educational institutions and managing the interests of Oslo BI students outside the campus. You are responsible for the student political work on campus and a primary task is to motivate commitment. You will be the external face of the Oslo BI students in various contexts and will be a representative for the school’s students. You will also be BI Oslo’s representative and head of delegation in the Welfare Council (VT) in Oslo and Akershus.

The SPU staff function has you as the nearest leader and you will recruit a manager for the unit with the help of HR. Your nearest leader will be the Campus President in Oslo. You will have BISO’s Academic and Political coordinator as a sparring partner. You will also be part of BISO’s Political Forum, which consists of 5-8 members, who work on revising the Political Objectives Document for BISO

In this role, you will be part of the Campus Management in Oslo who work closely with the Operations Unit and HR. As campus management, you will work together to create and facilitate student activity on campus and to achieve BISO’s strategic goals.

Work assignments:

  • Seek out, establish and maintain appropriate relationships with other educational institutions’ student associations in Oslo
  • Build up in-depth knowledge of the local student political environment
  • Be a face for BISO in various representation contexts in Oslo
  • Lead political work that is in line with BISO’s strategy and vision, as well as ensure that the students’ interests are well represented in the student political environment
  • Be able to shape your own work tasks and promote a political message outwardly at BI School of Economics
  • Monthly meetings with the External Team
  • Participate as a delegate at the Norwegian Student Organization’s National Meeting
  • Prepare the delegation in advance of meetings with the Welfare Parliament
  • You will arrange staff manager meetings (SLM) once a semester or more, where the managers will be able to meet to get relevant information from you and an opportunity to spar with each other about common issues.
