Do you want to help optimize the learning environment at BI?

Head of Academics is responsible for ensuring the academic quality of the school, as well as making sure that both lectures and exams are conducted optimally in terms of quality and learning outcomes. This is achieved through evaluations and dialogue with BI. In this role, you will participate in meetings with BI management and hold a seat on the Student Panel, the Learning Environment Committee (LMU), and the Education Committee for Bachelor and Master programs (UUV). UUV and LMU meetings are conducted in Norwegian, so applicants must be proficient in both written and spoken Norwegian. You will also be part of the Master Chamber, the Education Committee, and the Appointment Committee.

Routines and communication channels must be established to ensure that students’ opinions are heard and represented in these forums. In this role, you will act as a representative for students in matters concerning the academic and psychosocial environment at BISO.

Your immediate supervisor will be the Campus President at BISO Oslo. You will work closely with BISO’s Academic & Political Coordinator. You will also be part of BISO’s Academic Forum, consisting of 5–8 members who work on revising BISO’s Academic Policy Document. Maintaining cooperation with BI and upholding the agreements established between BISO and BI will also be important.

In this role, you will be part of the Campus Management team in Oslo, working closely with the Executive Committee and HR. Together, the campus leadership team works to create and facilitate student activities on campus and to achieve BISO’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between students and the BI administration
  • Follow up on the work of the BI administration at BI Oslo
  • Act as an academic contact person for students at BI Oslo
  • Hold regular meetings with the Academic Responsible Managers (ARMs) for master’s and bachelor’s programs
  • Participate in Master Chamber meetings
  • Ensure high academic and pedagogical quality, and contribute to a strong physical and digital learning environment
  • Coordinate work together with the Academic & Political Coordinator
  • Participate as a delegate at the Norwegian Student Organization’s National Assembly
