About the Debate Club
The Debate Club is a space for students to sharpen their critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills. We host guest talks, workshops, social activities, and attend external networking events and competitions. Our mission is not only to help members grow into confident debaters, but also to create opportunities for networking, teamwork, and lasting friendships.
Who We’re Looking For
As our Deputy Manager, you are:
- Reliable and adaptable, ready to step in when leadership is needed.
- Well-organized and supportive, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Humble and approachable, but also decisive when situations call for it.
- Interested in both leadership and collaboration across different club roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing Debate Club activities.
- Step in to lead meetings, events, or external representation when the Manager is unavailable.
- Ensure smooth communication and coordination across the board.
- Support event planning, budgeting, and project execution in collaboration with other board members.
- Help monitor ongoing activities and provide guidance when needed.
- Contribute to shaping the yearly activity plan and club strategy.
- Represent the Debate Club at student meetings, Recruitment Day, and the General Assembly if required.
- Mentor new members and help foster an inclusive and welcoming community.
