The Chess Committee is a student-run group for anyone interested in the game of chess. We host casual chess nights, internal tournaments, themed workshops, and social events where students from all programs and years can come together, play, learn, and connect.
We’re now looking for a creative and motivated PR & Communications Manager to help us spread the word and make sure everyone knows what’s happening in the Chess Committee.
About the role:
As PR & Communications Manager, you’ll be the voice and storyteller of the committee. You’ll create engaging content, manage our social media presence, and make sure our events and activities reach as many students as possible.
Key tasks include:
- Managing the Chess Committee’s social media channels
- Creating posters, posts, and updates about upcoming events
- Promoting chess nights, tournaments, and workshops to increase participation
- Helping to shape the committee’s visual profile and communication style
- Working closely with the Manager and Event team to ensure visibility
Who are you?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is creative, enthusiastic, and enjoys writing or design
- Is active on social media and knows how to grab attention
- Wants to gain experience in marketing, communication, or branding
- Loves being part of a social and inclusive student community
This is the perfect role if you want hands-on experience in PR and marketing, while helping to build a fun and welcoming chess culture on campus.
