About the Debate Club
The Debate Club is a space for students to sharpen their critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills. We host guest talks, workshops, social activities, and attend external networking events and competitions. Our mission is not only to help members grow into confident debaters, but also to create opportunities for networking, teamwork, and lasting friendships.
Who We’re Looking For
As our Financial Manager, you are:
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and comfortable working with numbers.
- Organized and reliable, with strong record-keeping skills.
- Transparent and trustworthy in handling budgets and expenses.
- A good communicator who can collaborate with both the board and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the Debate Club’s yearly budget in collaboration with the Manager.
- Oversee all financial activities, including income, expenses, and reimbursements.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Provide regular financial reports to the board.
- Ensure compliance with student association financial guidelines.
- Support fundraising efforts and explore sponsorship opportunities.
- Assist in planning cost-effective events and activities.
- Represent the Debate Club in financial matters during student meetings and the General Assembly.
