Debate Club
The Debate Club is a space for students to sharpen their critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills. We host guest talks, workshops, social activities, and attend external networking events and competitions. Our mission is not only to help members grow into confident debaters, but also to create opportunities for networking, teamwork, and lasting friendships.

Who We’re Looking For
As our Event Manager, you are:

  • Creative and enthusiastic, with a talent for bringing people together.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented, capable of planning smooth, engaging events.
  • A good communicator who enjoys working with both internal and external partners.
  • Flexible and proactive, ready to step in when plans need adjusting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute Debate Club events such as guest talks, workshops, social gatherings, and competitions.
  • Collaborate with the board to design events that enrich members’ debating skills and community experience.
  • Manage logistics, including booking venues, coordinating schedules, and arranging materials.
  • Work with the Financial Manager to prepare budgets for events and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Promote events in collaboration with the Communications/Marketing team to boost attendance.
  • Ensure events run smoothly on the day, handling any last-minute adjustments.
  • Gather feedback after events to continuously improve future activities.
