Do you want valuable experience and insight into student politics as BISO Oslo’s representative? We are currently recruiting 1 representative and 9 deputy representatives for the Welfare Council (VT).

The Welfare Council is an organization that represents students’ opinions and interests to SiO (The Student Welfare Organization in Oslo) and all the services they offer and manage. Representatives from all colleges and universities in Oslo are present. By being a representative on the Welfare Council, you will help represent the interests of BI students externally.

The representatives of the Welfare Council must follow BISO’s political goal document and strive to advocate for issues outlined therein. In matters not mentioned in the political goal document, representatives should vote in the best interests of BI students.

This is a great position for anyone wanting to get involved in student politics, and the role is rarely time-consuming. You will have the opportunity to develop your debating skills and observe others debating issues they are passionate about. The meetings this role participates in are conducted in Norwegian, so candidates applying must be proficient in both written and spoken Norwegian.

If you are interested in the position, you have to attend the academic association manager meeting (LLM) on Thursday 28 November, which starts at 17:00.

Benching can be done by email to hr@biso.no by Wednesday 27 November at 17:00. You will then get information about the room for the meeting.

All candidates for the representative position will have 2 minutes for a speech and a maximum of 5 minutes for a Q&A session from the audience.

All candidates for deputy positions will have 1 minute for a speech and a maximum of 3 minutes for a Q&A session from the audience.
